Entering
the Campton Place lobby one is immediately surrounded by European décor,
Asian efficiency, and California hip. Like many of Europe’s great boutique
hotels Campton Place combines small hotel intimacy with large hotel service.
In keeping with the hotel's sublime atmosphere, our suite was no exception. It was located on the corner of the hotel with a view over Union Square. Walking through an entryway to the living room, taupe and muted peach was the color theme, making the lovely Hendredon furnishings a focal point. Our living room was functional above all else. A large dining table and wet bar for entertaining, a couch that converted to a queen size bed, and an armoire that hid an entertainment system including 25" TV and CD player. The bedroom was plush and comfortable, yet once again functional. A large writing or computer desk with two line speaker phone, and data port, a California king size bed for relaxing, and a mirrored vanity and second TV. Adjacent to the bedroom was a large marble bathroom appointed with full sized tub, separate glass shower, brass fixtures, terry robes, comfy slippers, and fine milled soaps. One of the other advantages of staying at Campton Place Hotel is for its restaurant, Campton Place Restaurant. Rated as one of the "top 25 Restaurants in America" by Food and Wine Magazine.
After a long day on my feet I can’t tell you what an indulgence it was to have my warm potato, goat cheese and summer truffle galette delivered promptly to my room. It was just such an atmosphere of indulgence and function that made my stay at Campton Place so wonderful!
